This yellow face was invented in 1963 by Harvey Ball for an american insurance society for an intern campaign to keep their employees in a good mood. 

It feels like after seeing a lot of stuff coming from the violence's world like Hell's Angels, black leather, mug shots (thieves pictures in jail) etc... I think a pacific movement is coming slowly now, inspired by the hippies and their flowers. The come-back of the tie and dyed tee is one of the first sign of this trend...
